Hello. It's nice to meet you !

 

I'm Maree Zavarise - Stained Glass, Leadlight and Mosaic artist and teacher of these magnificent dying artforms.

 

For the past 30 years glass has cheallenged me to create original art for myself as well as for clients, students and exhibitions.

 

"My goal is to encourage and promote this artform by making my knowledge and creativity available to all. I would love to nuture creativity in everyone that I can influence... "

 

My current phase is SEA LIFE, abstract floral designs, and Australian flora and flora.  I never know which way I will go until I get inspired by an individual sheet of glass or tile - which is an artform in itself and which inspires many ideas. 

 

Even tough I use traditional lead and copper foil mediums, I also dabble in other techniques such as acid etching and recycling wrought iron implements in my glass creations.

 

I attempt to offer an understanding in the use of glass as medium to reflect the 21st century as well as the past.  As an artist, I desire new opportunities to expand my imagination to make beauty with my art.
